1. Opening Hours
Visitors are welcome at the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The reception hours at the Yemingzhu Triangle Terminal are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The reception hours at the Zigui Transfer Center for Three Gorges Dam Tourists are from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
2. Booking
Visitors need to make a real-name appointment through the "Three Gorges Dam Tourism" WeChat official account, and pay the transportation fee in advance (35 yuan/person). The scheduled time is divided into 8:00-12:00 am and 12:00-5:00 pm. The reservation information should include real name, mobile phone number, ID number and visit time. Minors (without ID card) and foreign tourists can make appointments and buy tickets at the ticket windows of various tourist areas.
✅Transportation🚗
By Bullet Train🚄: If you arrive in Yichang by bullet train, you can walk about 500m from Yichang East Station to take a tourist shuttle bus or take the 809-2 intercity bus to the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Transfer Center (you can also take B9 to Gezhouba and transfer to B100 to Yemingzhu Bus Station, and then take 216). During the National Day holiday, the Zigui Transfer Center route is also available. It is very convenient to go to the dam for only about 10 minutes.
Self-driving🚖: After arriving in Yichang, take the Three Gorges Special Expressway. A travel permit is required along the way. It can be obtained for free at the inspection stations along the way. Remember to bring your driving license and vehicle license.

【Tanzi Ling Scenic Area】
It is the commanding height of the Three Gorges Project and the best place to view the panoramic view of the Three Gorges Project. Tanzi Ling is named after its shape resembling an inverted jar.
【Ship Lock Viewing Platform】
The Five-level Ship Lock of the Three Gorges Dam is the main navigable building of the Three Gorges Project, with a total length of 6.4 kilometers. The up-and-down drop of the ship lock is 113 meters, equivalent to a 35-story high-rise building. The double-line five-level ship lock is the largest inland ship lock in the world, creating the most significant water level drop and shipping effect in the world.
【185 Viewing Platform】
The 185 Viewing Platform is located at the left end of the dam top highway of the Three Gorges Dam and is named after being at the same altitude as the dam top, 185 meters above sea level. The magnificent dam extends to the south from here, cutting the entire Yangtze River in half. Standing on the platform and looking down, you can experience the height of the dam.
【Diversion Memorial Garden】
The scenic spot is located 800 meters downstream of the Three Gorges Dam on the right bank. The whole Three Gorges Dam can be seen. The Diversion Memorial Garden is the first domestic water conservancy project theme park integrating tourism, popular science, performance, and leisure with the theme of the Three Gorges Project diversion.
